After a long 29 weeks of matches and three tournaments, finally, we have the Overwatch League playoffs. Tournaments are concurrent in each region, with the top two teams from each advancing to Grand Finals weekend in October.
This year the Overwatch League playoffs are quite different than the prior years. With the travel bans in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the format is an online-only format and teams have been split into two regions: 13 in North America and seven in Asia-Pacific. In the North America region are Atlanta Reign, Boston Uprising, Dallas Fuel, Florida Mayhem, Houston Outlaws, Los Angeles Gladiators, Los Angeles Valiant, Paris Eternal, Philadelphia Fusion, San Francisco Shock, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, and Washington Justice. Playing in the APAC are Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, London Spitfire, New York Excelsior, Shanghai Dragons, and Seoul Dynasty.

Friday, September 4th

Los Angeles Gladiators - Toronto Defiant
Atlanta Reign - Boston Uprising
Dallas Fuel - Washington Justice

Saturday, September 5th

New York Excelsior - TBD
Hangzhou Spark - TBD

All teams are competing in the playoffs this year, and have been seeded based on their regular-season records, including any bonus wins they picked up from their performances in the mid-season tournaments. Each region will have some single-elimination rounds, and the winners will be progressing to double-elimination rounds. By September 13th, we will have the two teams from each region that’ll progress to the Grand Finals. If all goes well, the North America teams that qualify will travel to South Korea and undergo quarantine before Grand Finals weekend starts on October 8th. If it is not possible, then the Grand Finals will also be held in an online format.

We will keep updating this post to add the matches as they come up, so make sure to come back and check out what's happening!
